Family friend, Lisa Slotsve, took family portraits in our neighborhood a few weeks ago. See if you can spot us in the her latest blog entry. Did I forget to smile again?

It takes quite a bit to impress me when it comes to software, but yesterday I was blown away by this little plug-in for web browser called PicLens. Think of it as a browser add-on that gives you something like the i-Tunes style cover flow visual browser but for web sites like YouTube and Flickr. The stunning thing is how fast and responsive it is -- assuming your net connection is reasonably fast.
This plugin only runs on Windows and Mac and only on IE, Firefox & Safari.
Try it, it rocks.
Since I tried out the new on-line photoshop offering I thought I would check out what people say about the alternatives.
I'm still in the process of checking them out. I've always been fond of picnik because they make it so easy to work with flickr. Maybe some of the upstarts will be better, I'l let you know.

Almost a year ago I bought my first Moleskine journal. At that point I had bought many journals before and never managed to fill more than a few pages. I'm happy to report that I filled two entire moleskines and am working on a third one now. Apparently I have enough self-fascination and navel gazing that this blog won't quite contain it all -- I have to spill my guts somewhere else too. I recently picked up a leather cover for my journal from Renaissance Art. It's an awesome cover. It fits well, looks great and adds a pen loop which is the only thing the moleskine notebook doesn't have. The downside is that the notebook no longer fits in my pocket, the cool band across the journal becomes extraneous and the inside pocket is harder to access. Overall, I like the cover, but I take it off when I need the notebook to take up less room.
The clouds looked so cool this morning I had to go back in and grab the camera. It was a gorgeous day; wish I could have gone on my usual constitutional.
In a rare mood, Elise asked me to take her picture. The instant I did so she whirled away. I like the result.
It looks a lot like life with a pre-schooler, they are always moving and nothing seems to be in focus -- still it has a kind of beauty.
