Just got back from San Francisco. The highlight of the trip was a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. The picture above was taken in the famous City Lights bookstore. This is the same bookstore that published “Howl” by Allen Ginsberg which landed the owners in court on obscenity charges. The bookstore had an amazing selection of books, particularly in the poetry section.

At the Holiday Party
My company always has the holiday party at the end of January. Left to right, it’s Clay H., Sandy H, me (in my new suit), and Jeannie.

Frank Warren
Last month I went to a reading Frank Warren gave at BirchBark Books in Minneapolis. He is the collector of the postcards at postsecret.blogspot.com. He had a lot of amazing and funny stories. I love the new book, although the first one is still my favorite.

Winter Carnival Fireworks (-10 deg)
I accidentally caught the end of the winter carnival fireworks. As luck would have it I had a guest from India with me. He may have seen better firework shows, but never colder!

Halloween, Alaska
GLT and I took in another Halloween, Alaska show on Friday at the Uptown Bar & Grill. They finally played my favorite song “State Trooper”. I wish I knew for sure if they were planning on playing it or whether yelling it out finally worked. They did a great ending to the song with a lot of distorted guitar.
Sometime it would be nice to see them take the stage before midnight.
