Ron at
Matsell Bridge The sun was shining brightly, making for a really neat framing
of Ron paddling past the Matsell Bridge. There is a nice park next to the bridge.

Pam near Stone
City As we approached Stone City, there were numerous bluffs and caves.
This indentation made a nice background for Pam as she paddled past.

Pam and Ron
Drifting I thought this was a neat shot of my fellow kayakers. The river
current is moving fast enough that much of the time we just drift, listening to the birds
sing and watching the wildlife on shore.

Hat in the
Grass Ron enjoys pulling off to the side to watch and listen intently. He
tells me that, "If you stop and don't move or make any noise for a few minutes, the
animals tend to ignore you and return to their normal activities." I came up
behind him as he was taking a break, and liked the picture of a hat sticking out of the
grass.

Baby Geese One
of the benefits of being on the river in the spring time is seeing the little babies.
Here are a some baby geese, which appeared to be no more than a few days old.
Their parents were close by, keeping a watchful eye on their offspring.

Pam and Aras
Resting We pulled off into one of the indentations in the Stone City area while
Ron caught up with us. Although it was a beautiful day, it was nice to get some
shade from time to time.

Aras
"Threading the Needle" Practicing my precision paddling skills, I
navigated through a tight spot near shore. This will come in handy as the types of
rivers we kayak continue to increase in difficulty.

Aras Kayaking
"Ron Style" I've finally figured out how to do this kayaking thing.
Thanks Ron!
