In early April, 1999, Pam and I purchased a pair of kayaks from Old Town Canoe. We chose the Loon 138 because it was shaped a lot like a canoe, making it a good match for the rivers (and lakes) we have here in Iowa. Also, the wide opening is well-suited for taking a small child (e.g., niece or nephew) along for the ride.
